If you could choose one symbol that would immediately signal your love of Red River Gorge, many would select the Miguel’s logo. In fact, after your first visit to the Gorge, you start to see the ubiquitous blond-haired symbol plastered on car bumpers, t-shirts, and laptops everywhere you look. It becomes short-hand for a shared love of the outdoors, adventure, and, of course, excellent pizza.
So, let’s talk about the pizza – let’s just say you don’t get written up in Food + Wine unless you have something special going on. Of course it hits the spot after a day of climbing or hiking, but after some, um, rigorous research, we can report that it is just as good after a long drive into the Red or as a final stop on your way out. And, with a menu built on personalization, it never gets dull.
Start with a classic red sauce base, or change it up with pesto, alfredo, or bbq sauce, then choose from over 40 toppings to create a classic pepperoni and mushroom or a one-of-a-kind kielbasa and green pepper or tofu and sweet potato pie. You can also get 1/2 and 1/2 or even just a half pizza so everyone gets exactly what they want. Sit outside and wash it all down with an Ale-8-One, La Croix, or a refreshing craft beer for a perfect afternoon meal.
